| Only if you want to.
Sleeping with cards under the pillow is not a needed ritual, nor is it a tarot ‘rule’. Sleeping with cards under your pillow does not help or hurt anything. One may dream about their deck, but that is not some magical thing that happens because they are under the pillow. That dream is seeded by the cards being there and it is one’s own subconscious that uses this event, but likely the dream has little to do with tarot. In a dream everything becomes a symbol for something else.

Ok, I'll try these method tonight and see how it works. Hope it's not a nightmare. Cheers!

| Dreaming with the deck under the pillow does not change the relationship with the deck. I did not intend to suggest that sleeping with the deck and dreaming was a method, sorry for the misunderstanding.
Not to say that it can't BE a method. A dreams 'direction' can be created with anything. This gets a little off topic, but it ties into the subject and I see that there needed to be a little bit more explanation.
In the area of dreaming, and not tarot, this method of directing a dream is called ‘inoculating’. This is where a person gives their dream a direction to go in. This can be done by way of meditation before bed, or, in cases like sleeping with the deck under the pillow, by simply focusing on something and having that something with you when you sleep.
Dreams themselves, without being given direction, will use the events in waking life to create the dream movies. So anything you do through the day or week can, and likely will, be used by your dreams. So by putting a deck under your pillow and not purposly directing your dream, it is probable that you will dream about tarot.
I have not personally done so, at least not intentionally. I have fallen asleep while studing my cards and they 'slept' next to me. But if I dreamed about the cards, I do not remember.

| If you want to be sure. Tarot is an extremely personal thing. Do what feels right for you. | |

| After reading all your posts guys, I decided to experiment sleeping with my tarot under my pillow. What I experienced the whole night was amazing and that my dreams were filled with card images floating in the air, as if playing around me. I cannot remember the images in the cards but as if they alive talking to me. It was weird, and I woke up so exchausted. I didn't realized I'll be late for work. The card I placed under my pillow is my new Fenestra Tarot I just opened that night. What is the meaning of this dream? | |
